Grapevine Classic Results

Grapevine, TX -

The Grapevine Classic was September 8th-10th this year.

We took 15 students to the Grapevine tournament! We are so thankful to Julie Steinhauser and Norma Cantu for judging, driving, and chaperoning in Dallas this year!

Speech

We took 2 extemporaneous speakers, an informative speaker, and our duo team.

Junior Officers, Lucky Cantu and Lily Steinhauser competed in duo interpretation and took home 6th place! They earned their state qualification in duo interpretation.

Debate

We took 4 Public Forum teams and 2 Lincoln-Douglas debaters.

PF Captain Nick Sharma and Junior Officer Samantha Martin and sophomores Rosemary Spindler and Parker Benko both went 3-2, winning 3 of their 5 rounds.

Samantha and Nick advanced to the double-octafinals round at the tournament. The partners both earned a speaker award, with Nick earning 10th best speaker overall and Samantha earning 6th best speaker overall!

Our LD Captain Nate Watkins and Junior Officer Luke Schooler both went 4-1, winning 4 of their preliminary rounds! Both debaters advanced to double-octafinals as well.

Nate made it all the way to the quarter-final round on Sunday morning, earning him a bid to the Tournament of Champions in Lincoln-Douglas.
