Head Coach – Nathan DuPont

Mr. DuPont attended Jack C. Hays High School in Buda, Texas. During his high school career he participated in Cross Examination Debate, Original Oratory, and Extemporaneous Speaking. He was a three-time elimination round participant at TFA State, a NSDA National Tournament qualifier, and an Octa-finalist at the Tournament of Champions in Cross Examination Debate. After graduation he attended Trinity University in San Antonio on a debate scholarship. He continued to develop his debate skills while working as President of the Trinity University Forensics Society and as a consultant for several debate teams in the San Antonio and Austin area. He has helped coach teams to two first place finishes at UIL State, multiple TFA State elimination round participants, and multiple NSDA National Tournament qualifiers in CX Debate. He has spent the last year completing his Masters of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education at Trinity University.

Mr. DuPont teaches Social Studies, English 1, Debate 1, and Debate 3 at Anderson High School.

President, Texas Forensics Association

Joe Uhler, Director of Anderson Speech and Debate, serves as President of the Texas Forensic Association for school year 2013-2014.  Congratulations to Mr. Uhler for this recognition by his peers.


Educator of the Year

On September 10, 2011, at 2011 the Grapevine Classic awards ceremony, Mr. Uhler was honored with a plaque and a standing ovation in recognition of the impressive growth and success of the team under his strong and dedicated leadership.  Congratulations, Mr. Uhler!  We all thank you for your outstanding service to Anderson and the Speech and Debate Team!


Coaching Excellence in Extemporaneous Speaking Award

At the 2011 Tournament of Champions held in Chicago, Anderson’s Speech & Debate coach, Joseph Uhler, received the Coaching Excellence in Extemporaneous Speaking Award.  It is our honor to congratulate Mr. Uhler for being recognized as one of the nation’s best Extemporaneous Speaking Coaches.  Congratulations, Mr. Uhler, and thank you for your outstanding service to our school and team.
