2016 – 2017 Head Coach Robey Holland
New Anderson Head Coach Robey Holland has spent the past 13 years focused on speech and debate. As a four-year competitor in high school, he was a two-time state silver medalist, competing in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. Holland is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Philosophy and English, where he continued to be involved in the debate community through working with local high schools and interning in the department of speech and debate at the University Interscholastic League. Upon graduating, Holland became the head coach of Prosper High School. During his time at Prosper his team enjoyed local, state, and national success. Holland has coached state champions in Extemporaneous Speaking and Poetry Interpretation, state finalists in Congressional Debate, national qualifiers in CX, LD, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Congress, TOC qualifiers in Extemporaneous Speaking, and most recently Holland’s policy debate team competed in late rounds at NSDA Nationals. Holland is enthusiastic about returning to Austin to lead the Anderson Speech and Debate Team and is committed to helping the Anderson program grow and flourish.
